We have been open since 2013. Fast forward to January 1st, 2018. Prop 64 starts. The Industry is now run by the state and BCC Board of Cannabis Control. They implemented regulation and taxation. They charge us a 27% excise tax on everything we buy. They charge the farms/growers wholesale tax. Then when the product is sold to the consumer, we, the retail store, have to pay sales tax. At a rate of 8% to the state and 7% to the county that we are in.
